NAME: DJ GS
BORN: 9-11-79
DJ STYLE: Depends what type of venue it is. If its to show off ability and technical skill its Hip Hop , RnB , Garage.
Personally im more into my House music, soulful and funky.

I started DJing back in 1994 which was many moons ago and much learning , training has taken place since then.
I first got into the whole music at the age of 13 playing for a Steel Drum band and travelling to various venues getting into that sound that has so far taken over my brain.
After a serious amount of practice and training in the art of beat mixing i was confident enough to start the world of the DJ circuit which can be a cruel place.
In 98 whilst playing on a boat party on the river Thames I met a DJ called Special K and DJ Swing, whom till this day had a very big influence on my musical taste. Following the boat party was a BLAZE IT UP TOUR which reached Universitys throughout the UK Including: Kent , Birmingham, Aldgate, Loughborough, Canterbury , Manchester, Newcastle. By the end of the 8 month Tour it finished with one of my highlights in my DJ Career. I was invited to Supoort RnB Uk act DAMAGE in concert at the Sheppards Bush Empire. It was great to DJ for so many people and of course meeting the likes of Emma Bunton , Damage, Lonyo, Kelly Le Rock. I learned a lot from being in the company of established people and appreciate people's advice."

It was the start of my DJ carear on a road to bigger and better things. Alongside DJ Swing and Special K we had a great time and i learned alot of things.
One was to Watch Bruce Movies before performing , Drink Baileys with Ice, Meditate. THANKS GUYS!!!

After 98 things started to go from heat to heat, I had various radio show including playing on Time Fm london alongside Platinumnet (DJ ROCKFORD) and hosting our own events at the GASS club London with acts such as Jameson , Viper , DT and many more. After hosting the event at Gass Club myself and DJ DANTE (Shine FM) moved onto host an event called SEX'U'ALL CUMforts at Secrets in Romford , with a Line up which was unstoppable including, Pay As U Go , Ladies First , Mc Kie , DT, Creed, The WideBoys and many more.

After hosting Sex'U'All CUMforts i moved on to play at Twice as Nice alongside partner at the time Special Mc who was performing JOY. We also did a little Tour including , The Works in Kingston , Destiny in Watford , Twice as Nice, Time and Envy , Secrets , Charlie Chans and Faces nightclub. Whilst Doing the Tour I managed to organise a mini tour in Germany which consisted of playing in Breman and Dusseldorf which was a great experience for the both of us. When we arrived back in the uk we was just in time to play at the Notting Hill Carnival which was my first year to do it (1999), we were invited by Platinumnet to play on the BIPA stand which was one of the biggest with a crowd of over 3,000 surrounding us. LOVED IT

After the Tours and carnival I got myself a couple of residencies incuding the BIGFISH at Aquarium alongside Grant Richards which was great fun. Grant has gone on to do great for himself as he is a HOUSE HEAD from deep within.

2001 found me at a Bar called Icon and playing residency to 150 people every friday , I was based at Icon for 2 years before i felt it was time to move on. I still see the same heads from their coming to support me which is a great feeling. The DJs i worked with DJ DIGGA B and DJ Crispee are on Solo projects at the moment and are lookin to do work together in early 2006.

Since 2001 I have a played at numerous venues including going back to Germany with DJ Passion to play at One Nation which was another mad one to say the least.

2004 I competed in the Urban DJ championships which had heats held throughout London with the Finals taking place in Stratford circus. It was the first time in years i had gone in for a competition and was a great experience for me. The final was held on a sat in mid October from what i remember and was tense as hell, Clashing other DJs for the title with 3mins each to show your ability. At the end of the day i was crowned DJ champion and walked away with 2 Vestax Turntables , Vestax Mixer, needles and alot of publicity. The event was Judged by Rampage and others. I was presented with a DJ Trophy by the mayor and felt quite overwhelmed with what i had achieved.

The beginning of 2005 was another good start as i was offered a Contract with FASTCAR MAGAZINE on their Tour of the UK playing at all the festivals i could dream of. We travelled to Manchester, Doncaster, Birmingham ,North Wield. To top it all off in 2005 I played at WEEKEND AT DAVES which took place September at The Excel Centre in london Fri-Sat-Sun. Working alongside old school kings the RAGGA TWINS. I was playing on the FUEL stand surrounded by loads of models (HOW HARD IS THAT). it was the top off i needed for the year. 2006 looks to be even better with an even bigger Tour lined up around the UK.

2006 Kicked of well with Bookings for FASTCAR Looking to be bigger and better then 2005. Also you can now catch DJ GS on Londons number 1 underground radio station SHINE FM 87.9 on Saturday Evenings doing the Sensual Sessions Show from 8pm-10pm.
